Cornerstone Wealth Management Team

1. Erik Thompson

CFP®, MBA

(706) 342-0030

erik.thompson@lpl.com

Erik started Cornerstone Wealth Management (CWM) in December 2012, the same time he became an independent financial planner.  He previously worked for a large brokerage firm but found he was more interested in helping people and educating them about their money than in achieving his sales quotas. So he went to night school, obtained his CFP® certification, and decided to work independently. He now spends the majority of his days talking with clients about their concerns related to their financial situation and focusing on more than just their investments but their entire financial picture.

At Cornerstone, he can take the time to listen to folks and hear their stories, and learn what's important to them.  Being an independent financial planner eases the pressure of achieving sales goals and allows him to focus entirely on his clients. It is a very different and more relaxed relationship compared to his experience working for a larger firm. Erik's commitment to educating people about money goes beyond his work at Cornerstone.

Erik earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his MBA from Georgia Southern University. He's a Certified Financial Planner, Series 7 and 66 registered with LPL Financial. Erik has been married to his wife, Naomi, for more than 20 years, and they are proud parents to their daughter, Kenzie. Erik is also a pet parent to a greyhound, chickens, ducks, and a cockatiel. He spends his spare time attending Kenzie's music activities, and on occasion, you can find him honing his blacksmithing skills.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification mark CFP® in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization’s initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification mark.

4. Cindy Lamonte

Planning Assistant

Cindy has been part of the CWM team for more than five years and is responsible for all things client relations. Her primary role is to ensure each of CWM's clients feels like family and that Erik is well-prepared for every client meeting. Favorite part of her job – preparing the client's birthday cards!

Cindy has been happily married to her husband, Jon, for nearly 30 years, and they are parents to their son, Brett. But since becoming empty nesters, their Lab-Pit Bull mix, Sadie, has become her right-hand gal. Cindy loves to read, go to rock concerts and visit the beach in Pensacola.  So until they can return home to Florida and all its beaches, Georgia's Lake Allatoona has to suffice.

5. Pam Stoleru

Scheduling Coordinator

Pam joined the CWM family in the Summer of 2022. A crucial part of CWM's client relationship is the annual account review, which Pam is responsible for scheduling and planning. Successful account reviews depend on thorough preparation, and she ensures each client is given all the information they need to make educated decisions for the upcoming year.

Pam lives in Connecticut with her husband, two kids and her black lab named Kona. Pam and Kona enjoy taking early morning hikes together and love to look for snakes and frogs.  Pam is also an avid reader and fan of true-crime podcasts.

6. Lauren Boling

Administrative Assistant

Lauren recently joined CWM as an Administrative Assistant while she continues her studies at UGA. Her primary role is to engage with clients by providing updates on their year-to-date account questions, scan and organize essential documents, update client records, and assist with various office tasks to ensure smooth business operations.

She appreciates the opportunity to engage with clients and make a positive impact on their lives in this field. Additionally, she enjoys the strong sense of connection and collaboration with her talented team of coworkers. Lauren likes that each CWM client is unique, with their own interests, ambitions, and personal stories that shape their financial outlook. She feels it is a privilege to engage with them and gain insight into their individual journeys.

Lauren is a passionate Georgia Bulldogs fan (Go Dawgs!) as a fourth-year student at the University.  She also loves the outdoors and enjoys activities like running, hiking, and swimming. However, her greatest passion is traveling—she takes every opportunity to explore new places and experience different cultures. She has also completed two half marathons!

7. Naomi Thompson

Administrative Assistant

Naomi has worked with CWM for 3 years. She uses her organizational and detail-oriented skills to develop and update CWM's office policies, procedures, and systems.

Naomi constantly learns in her role, which keeps her curious about financial planning and the necessary support systems. While Cornerstone clients have different circumstances regarding their accounts, they all have a similar desire for information. Naomi enjoys working directly with CWM's clients to ensure they feel comfortable the team can handle their requests.

Naomi is married to Erik. Their daughter, Kenzie, is a sophomore at Berry College. They all enjoy many animals such as chickens, ducks, a greyhound, a cockatiel and parakeet, and occasionally, beehives. While animals are a huge hobby, she also enjoys reading, traveling, and outdoor activities.
