Cornerstone Wealth Management Team

Erik Thompson
CFP, MBA

Erik started Cornerstone Wealth Management (CWM) in December 2012, the same time he became an independent financial planner.  He previously worked for a large brokerage firm but found he was more interested in helping people and educating them about their money than in achieving his sales quotas. So he went to night school, got his CFP, and decided to work independently. He now spends the majority of his days talking with clients about their concerns related to their financial situation and focusing on more than just their investments but their entire financial picture.

At Cornerstone, he can take the time to truly listen to folks and hear their stories, and learn what's important to them.  Being an independent financial planner eases the pressure of achieving sales goals and allows him to focus entirely on his clients. It is a very different and more relaxed relationship compared to his experience working for a larger firm. Erik's commitment to educating people about money goes beyond his work at Cornerstone. Since the Fall of 2018, Erik has taught Emory University's Continuing Education Course, "Learning the Fundamentals of Investing."

Erik earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his MBA from Georgia Southern University. He's a Certified Financial Planner, Series 7 and 66 registered with LPL Financial. Erik has been married to his wife, Naomi, for more than 20 years, and they are proud parents to their daughter, Kenzie. Erik is also a pet parent to three greyhounds, five chickens, three ducks, and three rabbits. He spends his spare time attending Kenzie's many activities while she's still at home, and on occasion, you can find Erik honing his blacksmithing skills.

Debbie Stewart
Office Manager

Debbie is a native of Covington, Georgia. She has extensive experience in accounting, payroll, and personnel. She brought this vast experience to the CWM team nearly a decade ago and has witnessed firsthand the firm's growth. She takes great pride in working with all CWM's clients and becoming personally interested in their stories.

She is happily married to her best friend, Ralph. They are blessed with two children, Trey & Stephanie, and over the years, their family of four has grown with the addition of their son-in-law, Jeff, and daughter-in-law, Sharron. They also have three grandchildren, Caleb, Kylee, and Cody, who are all growing too quickly, and their precious poodle, Rusty.

Ralph and Debbie spend their free time riding motorcycles all over this great country. They love camping, sitting by the fire, and spending time with friends. Their "happy place" is Daytona Beach, where they love sitting in lounge chairs on the beach with a cooler between them.

Cindy LaMonte
Planning Assistant

Cindy has been part of the CWM team for more than five years and is responsible for all things client relations. Her primary role is to ensure each of CWM's clients feels like family and that Erik is well-prepared for every client meeting. Favorite part of her job – preparing the client's birthday cards!

Cindy has been happily married to her husband, Jon, for nearly 30 years, and they are parents to their son, Brett. But since becoming empty nesters, their Lab-Pit Bull mix, Sadie, has become her right-hand gal. Cindy loves to read, go to rock concerts and visit the beach in Pensacola.  So until they can return home to Florida and all its beaches, Georgia's Lake Allatoona has to suffice.

Naomi Thompson
Administrative Assistant

Naomi recently joined CWM after transitioning from working as an Education and Land Management Manager. Here, she honed her organizational and detail-oriented skills leading a department of educators focused on creating opportunities for teachers and reaching goals for managing parkland. She is now using these skills to develop and update CWM's office policies, procedures, and systems.

Naomi constantly learns in her role, which keeps her curious about financial planning and the necessary support systems. While Cornerstone clients have different circumstances regarding their accounts, they all have a similar desire for information. Naomi enjoys working directly with CWM's clients to ensure they feel comfortable the team can handle their requests.

Naomi is married to Erik.  They live with their daughter, Kenzie, on a backyard farm filled with chickens, ducks, rabbits, three greyhounds, a cockatiel and parakeet, and occasionally, beehives. While animals are a huge hobby, she also enjoys reading, traveling, and outdoor activities.

Pam Stoleru
Scheduling Coordinator

Pam joined the CWM family in the Summer of 2022. A crucial part of CWM's client relationship is the annual account review, which Pam is responsible for scheduling and planning. Successful account reviews depend on thorough preparation, and she ensures each client is given all the information they need to make educated decisions for the upcoming year.

Pam lives in Connecticut with her husband, two kids and her black lab named Kona. Pam and Kona enjoy taking early morning hikes together and love to look for snakes and frogs.  Pam is also an avid reader and fan of true-crime podcasts.
